The thickest chestnut tree in Kurtuvėnai Regional Park. Its trunk at a chest height is 4.3 m and the diameter is 1.4 m. The tree is 17 m high. It used to have three trunks, but one of them was ripped off by a storm. Aesculus hippocastanum is a durable tree that reaches 200-300 years. It originally comes from the south, very common in the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula and in northern Greece. This heliophilous tree is planted in the cities and rural homesteads in Lithuania, some of them can be found in the town of Kurtuvėnai and in the territory of the former manor.
